The refurbishment will be carried out in phases, with the fully renovated hotel due to be completed in 2026. The hotel will be open throughout the refurbishment.

The first authentic grand hôtel in Finland, Hotel Kämp, embarks on a comprehensive refurbishment. Throughout this transformation, the entire hotel's ambiance and interior will be renewed, technology will be modernized, and the overall guest experience will be elevated to new heights. The refurbishment will be conducted with utmost respect for the hotel's history and character, ensuring that it evolves to meet the expectations of both classic luxury hotels and the demands of today and the future.

"The first phase of the refurbishment was completed in October 2024, when we opened 119 refurbished Deluxe and Premium Deluxe rooms. Following this, we refurbished the executive rooms facing Kluuvikatu", says Tuomas Liewendahl, General Manager of Hotel Kämp.

In May 2025, the hotel’s new extension, known as the Helander House, was completed. The extension offers guests 22 high-quality rooms and suites where elegant, history-inspired interiors meet the modern needs of today’s hotel guests.

The latest phase of the refurbishment was completed in November 2025, when Hotel Kämp’s main entrance was restored to its original location on the Esplanade. At the same time, the iconic Kämp Bar and the new restaurant À La Kämp opened their doors.
